Hello friends!
We've got LOTS of FurCon 2023 news - grab a Sunny D and join us!
Hotels Open THIS Saturday!
Important info first: FurCon 2023 hotels will launch Saturday, November 19th at 10AM Pacific time! This page will automatically update with the booking link on Saturday morning at the appropriate time - no refreshing needed. Full details about our available hotels, pricing, locations, and other information can be found on the general Hotel page here.
We understand that it’s much later in the year than we had hoped to launch our hotels. Thank you all very much for your patience as we ensured our arrangements were complete and booking could be made smoothly!
Party Floor
Party floor applications are open - though we recommend waiting until you have made a successful booking at any FurCon hotel for easy transferring. In the meantime, please read the information on the Party Floor page thoroughly, it contains important rules and things to keep in mind.
Panel Submissions Close Next Week!
Got a last-minute idea for an instructional forum, meet-and-greet, or social event? We’ve extended the opening window for Panel submissions! You now have until November 25th to submit your event. In particular, we are somewhat limited in Art Track and Species Meetup submissions, but we’ll accept all panel types!
FurCon: Unleashed!
Singers, dancers, performers - FurCon: Unleashed is your time to shine! Our Sunday evening capstone event welcomes performers of all types to showcase their talents on stage (or through video!). For full details and where to submit your act, click here. Acts should be submitted before January 9th, 2023.
Dance Competition and Bay Battle
Feeling a bit more competitive? Both our Fursuit Dance Competition (FC:DC) and the Bay Battle are returning in 2023! FC:DC is a high-skill showcase of fursuit dancer talent, while Bay Battle consists of 1v1 head-to-head dance battles for both costumed and non-costumed competitors. Read full rules and apply to the Fursuit Dance Competition or Bay Battle now!
Art Show
The Further Confusion Art Show is open to anyone who wishes to display and sell 2-D flat artwork or 3-dimensional sculptures, jewelry, and handicrafts. Our Art Show is now open for Exhibitors, both to artists attending the convention and those participating remotely (with a 2023 Supporting Membership, see full rules for details). Our show is open for panel/table reservations on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply as soon as possible! If participating remotely and mailing in your artwork: it must be received by December 29th, 2022. See the Art Show page for full rules.
Artist Alley
The Artist Alley is now open for applications! These are half-table, one- or two-day seats within our Dealers Room for folks who are starting out as a vendor, only have a few specific products to sell, or who want the flexibility of only vending for a single day. Applying will be a little different this year: use the FC Registration portal to log in or sign up, and click “Vendor”:
Once you’ve filled out your business details, the next screen will allow you to apply to the Artist Alley. Artist Alley applications are NOT time-sensitive (drawn by lottery), but will close on December 16th. For full rules, please see the Artist Alley page.
Volunteer at FurCon!
Our Volunteers are super-stars who make each convention possible! From our Registration team greeting all our attendees, to our Dealer Room team assisting our vendors, to our Logistics team working behind the scenes to manage our convention equipment, every role at FC is a piece of the full picture. We always need volunteers - now more than ever - to ensure the smooth operation of our event. At the moment we are in particular need for Art Show volunteers, as well as Go-Furs who act as jack-of-all-trades and help wherever they are needed. Volunteers earn great perks, including comped membership to the event, priority access to events, snacks and meals in a dedicated lounge, and more! Learn all the details of volunteering here - and use the link in the sidebar of the Registration portal to sign up!
COVID Policy
The threat of COVID-19 is still a serious concern, and one we intend to address as strongly as possible to minimize potential spread at the event. The short version is: FurCon will require proof of vaccination, including at least one booster shot*, for all attendees and volunteers. Additionally, we will be requiring face masks to be worn in public areas of the convention, including under fursuit/costume heads.
We strongly recommend reading our COVID-19 Policy in full before attending. Please ensure you will have a supply of well-fitting masks, as well as making sure a copy of your vaccination proof or access to a digital record (if available in your location) are handy.
As we cannot anticipate the impact of a combination of Covid, winter flu, and other seasonal illnesses, we have set these guidelines in place to best protect all our guests, including those who may live with immunocompromised family or friends. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
*Please see the COVID-19 policy page for specific timetables for dosage.
Our 2023 Charity - Muttville!
Muttville is a 501c3 charity that rescues senior dogs and finds them new homes. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in San Francisco, the organization was formed to save the lives of older dogs considered “unadoptable” that were being routinely euthanized in other shelters. Learn more at Muttville.org!
We are proud to support them in 2023 after needing to defer our 2022 year - be sure to look out for charity events and donation opportunities. You can even earmark a donation through our Registration process!
Conbook Update
Our Conbook is still open for artwork and fiction submissions! The deadline for submissions is December 14th. Read more details here! Note: any submission that was sent in for our 2022 convention will be included!
Registration is OPEN!
Be sure to Pre-Register for the 2023 convention before January 9th! Our new self-service portal, provided by ConCat, also allows you to make changes to your information or upgrade your membership. Many folks have had their membership roll over from 2022 - be sure to check that everything is accurate before traveling. If you have any questions, reach out to registration@furtherconfusion.org!
